REM sensors are active volumetric barriers for protecting and/or detecting people and objects. Their specific detection characteristics make them particularly suitable for use on automatic swing doors.
One or more infrared light beams are emitted by the device; reflection from an obstacle within the detection area causes
activation of the output contact.
Sensitivity is virtually independent of the color and surface texture of the object.
The range and angle of the detection beams are adjustable to suit any installation situation
Operating mode
REM sensors operate on the background suppression principle. The background, beyond the device's range, is "perceived" but ignored. To activate the sensor, a signal reflected by an object within the set detection range is required. The sensor can be installed in a movable or fixed position, for protection and safety functions.
Ideal use
Activation sensor ideal for confined spaces where a limited detection range is required (hotel kitchen/lounge areas, restaurants, etc.). Impact protection for swing doors. Anti-crushing and anti-shearing protection for sliding doors.
