Detects motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles, faces, and human bodies. It also performs tracking, captures snapshots, uploads high-quality face images, and enhances images. It extracts motor vehicle attributes, detecting up to 10 attributes.
SMD (Smart Motion Detection)
SMD 4.0, Advanced Motion Detection
Dahua Smart Motion Detection technology uses intelligent algorithms to classify targets that trigger motion detection alarms. It filters out non-target objects, such as small and large animals, to prevent false alarms.
With an AI NVR, Quick Pick technology is available, making it easy to search for and select human and vehicle targets from SMD event videos, prioritizing the closest matches.

Automatically filters out false alarms caused by animals, moving leaves, bright lights, etc., and uses secondary recognition during target detection to improve alarm accuracy.
Face Detection
Supports face detection, face bounding boxes, snapshot capture, face snapshot uploads, face image enhancement, and selection of a preferred image from a group of snapshots.
It also supports feature extraction, detecting 6 attributes and 8 expressions. The attributes are gender, age, glasses, face mask, moustache, and expressions. The expressions are anger, sadness, hatred, fear, surprise, calmness, happiness, and confusion.
A face-cropping function is also available, allowing one face to be cropped at a time and the dimensions to be customized to produce a passport photo.
Supported snapshot capture methods include real-time capture, prioritizing image quality, and selecting a preferred image from a group of snapshots.
Detection of hard hats and work uniforms
Detects up to 6 helmet colors: red, orange, yellow, blue, white and black.
The alarm is triggered when a person is not wearing a helmet or when the color of the helmet they are wearing does not match the configured color.
It also supports work uniform detection. Up to 5 work uniform sample libraries can be uploaded, containing a total of up to 1,000 images (images must be 1080p and in JPG format).
The alarm is triggered when the similarity between the detected work uniform and the samples in the library falls below the set threshold (i.e., below the minimum compliance standard for work uniforms).
The system can detect work uniform characteristics, such as uniform color and whether the person is wearing a mask and shoe covers. An alarm is triggered when the target is found not to meet the specified requirements.
Detects and triggers alarms when only one person is on site, as well as when no one is in the detection area, for example when a worker leaves their post or an area is left unattended.
